About Diskworld and Terra

The game of Diskworld revolves around the central world, Terra. Before anyone's memory Terra and the planets around it were barren and lifeless. Some evil powers known only as the Darkgods came, some believed on the run from other powers. Whatever their reason for coming they brought with them an artifact known as the Godsblind. With it they were able to shield the entire system of planets from the detection of the greater powers, the True Gods.

The Darkgods began kidnapping other races and cultures from many different worlds, pitting them against each other for their amusement. Some nations rose, some fell, and some became acclimated to other realms. The people were enslaved at the evil powers' whims and prayed for release.

That release came in the form of a warrior named Maximillian MeKregor, a warlord and great general for the dark armies who had become disillusioned with the continuous, pointless wars. Together with a small band of nine other rebels he escaped the control of the Darkgods and found his way to the Outer Planes. He beseeched the first gods he came to, the elven pantheon, but they cared little for the plight of a world they didn't think existed, except for the elven goddess of beauty, Hanali, who had one of her priestesses lead them to Mount Olympus. In the elven court was a spy for the evil, dark elf queen, Lolth, who reported the rebel's need to his mistress. Lolth immediately set out her own priestess to help, seeing a way to gain a foothold on this new world. But, like many of the courts of the Lower Planes, Lolth had a spy in her midst, who reported to a Demon Prince known as Tao. Tao was not a god and easily located Terra. He grew weary of the also nearly as pointless Blood War and appeared on Terra as a powerful, good champion.

Meanwhile Max and his nine had met with Zeus, who agreed to help, calling in other gods and pantheons. Corellon, learning that Lolth had a priestess of her own helping, immediately offered his help. Max returned to Terra, leading the Gods on what was known as the Godswar. During the ordeal hundreds of thousands of people were killed. One planet was totally destroyed and Terra was flattened. Finally the True Gods had won and the Dark Gods were destroyed, but the Godsblind disappeared.

The Gods offered to send the people back to the homes of their ancestors, but none of them wanted to go. Even the dragons had been there for generations, Terra was their home now. Worse they didn't trust the True Gods, they had killed and destroyed everything in their war. But the True Gods couldn't leave them on their own or they would fall victim to the next evil powers that came along. It was the God Thoth that came up with the solution, give Max and his champions pseudo-god like powers, and the people can have their own representatives, ones who gained their powers from the Gods. The Ten was formed, with Max and the yooung priestess of justice, Jolanna, as the leaders. They were given the ability, as a group, to create more "godlings" as they were called and chose their new pantheon wisely. However Tao had become a powerful hero and the people demanded his inclusion. Upon attaining his powers he nearly destroyed the Ten, being driven into hiding. He used his demonic connections to gain protection from evil gods and the ability to create his own godlings, The Black Circle

My History of gaming

I started gaming without a DM. I never knew other gamers until i had been DMing my friends and family (including my mom) for about 3 years. I was introduced to 2nd edition when I turned 18 and have remained with it. I do not play or use most 3rd edition things, though I do own a few of the books and have incorporated some of the ideas I liked into 2e.

I am obsessive compulsive and use to make lists of everything, spells, monsters, treasure, proficiencies, equipment, etc. My wife, also a gamer, complained about the binders and got me a computer. Now it is too easy. When I get something new I didn't have to start my list over again, I just add it in. When I ran out of lists I began to create files of the actual spell, monster, and treasure descriptions, so I wouldn't need a whole library of books to use my random encounters or looking up a spell.

This is my gift to you. If you want, I will give you a copy of every spell, monster, and treasure I use in my games. Not every thing I own is listed, but almost everything is. Things that are world specific, such as spells that affect the Cerulean Storm of Dark Sun, I did not include becasue there is no Cerulean Storm on Terra. They are absolutely free, but i made them using Microsoft Works Word Processor, so if you do not have that program I suggest you get it. The list is large as my library is extensive. To receive these files just email me at dmsteve13@yahoo.com and I will email the files to you. I also have filles for every weapon, armor, and other equipment I have found.

Just how extensive is my collection.
